My relentless quest to produce Advanced Cards for all of the Ashes continues at a pace (that is to say, a snail’s pace, as some wag recently suggested). None-the-less I have managed to produce Cards for a couple of cracking good series that played out back to back in 1954-55 and 1956.
If you want to know more about either series may I suggest two fine cricket touring books - “Australia 1955” and “Cape Summer and the Australians in England”. Both are by Alan Ross, both available on Kindle, and both contain lyrical writing about the joys of a long tour in general, and detailed match summaries of each Test. Ross was a poet, an editor, but most of all, one of the most talented cricket writers of his or any other time.
Reading Ross is almost as pleasant a way to while away the time as replaying both epic series with Minden Cricket.
Enjoy!
