Domestic Comps Coming to Minden Cricket

Over the years we have had quite a few requests to produce County Championship and Sheffield Shield seasons. So far we have only done this once, producing the County Championship of 1948 as part of the 1948 Tour Pack. With that pack we produced Basic Ratings for all of the Championship Teams, including ratings for players either playing in the Championship or against Donald Bradman's Touring Team. 

Of course, anyone interested in doing so has always been able to create their own Basic Ratings by using the instructions found in the Minden Cricket rule book.

For the Minden Cricket team, the real challenge has been to produce Advanced Player Cards based on the limited data sets available for domestic cricket. Well, the good news is, that challenge has been accepted and the resulting work completed. We are now able to produce these sets accurately and (reasonably) quickly.

Over the past few weeks more hours than we'd care to admit have been pumped into rebuilding the Excel spreadsheet that produces Advanced Player Cards. It has been expanded to produce up to 500 cards (important in order to be able to produce a full season of the Championship with 100s of players taking part each year), and the formulas have been tweaked to produce all required ratings from the available data sets.

We are now putting the finishing touches on the first set, which will be based on the 2005 County Championship, a season packed with domestic and international stars.

As to other sets. For anyone interested in domestic competitions let me know what seasons you would like. I have had many suggestions over the years via email and DM but any new recommendations are welcome.
