The 1938 Ashes series in England was drawn 1–1 as Australia, captained by Don Bradman, retained the Ashes in a high scoring affair. Bradman scored 434 runs at an average of 108, while England’s Len Hutton made 364 during a Timeless Test to wrap the series at The Oval. Key bowlers included Bill O’Reilly and Ernie Toshack for Australia, and English champion left arm spinner, Hedley Verity.
