The Ashes - 1977 - Before the Packer Circus
Boycott was on a tear during the 1977 Ashes in England, while the Aussies were a lackluster bunch after the teams of previous years. Perhaps their minds were other things as many had secretly signed contracts to join Kerry Packer's World Series Cricket and were to join that Circus directly after the Tour. Despite this there were some sparkling moments, including a gritty innings from Tony Greig in his last official Test series, and the debut of a certain IT Botham.
