The Ashes - 1974-75 - Thomo Arrives
When England was planning for this tour they assumed the great DK Lillee's back would not recover in time for the six Test series. No such luck - they they got two of the most aggressive bowlers in cricket history.
While Lillee, who famously wrote during this period that he bowled to hurt, only got 25 wickets, the real aggressor was Jeff Thomson, a young firebrand coming into cricket after just one mediocre test.
While England showed some spark, including firey batting from the great AW Greig, it was a non-contest. Even the return of 41 year old Colin Cowdry couldn't help.
The "Ugly" Australians, as they were know, won 4-1.
